Hélène Hendriks has chosen to sign with SBS 6 for five years, but has also received an offer from the competition. “I’m really enjoying it here,” she says.

SBS 6 knows this all too well and has therefore offered her a mega contract of no less than five years, which is now unique in Hilversum. And despite the fact that there was also interest from other parties, she accepted. She signs with John de Mol.
Five more years
Wilfred Genee brings it up in the column In The Walkways. “So you will stay for the next five years. Was there any interest from other parties?”
Hélène then: “Yes.”
Wilfred: “But not an option for you?”
Hélène: “No, because I’m having a great time here.”
Wilfred: “Commercial, I assume?”
Hélène: “Yes, commercial.”
To RTL?
Of course, it concerns RTL, because the public broadcaster is struggling with salary ceilings. Wilfred: “Otherwise they can’t pay you.”
Hélène: “Hahaha. Is that true?”
Wilfred: “Yes, of course. You get paid well here.”
Hélène: “I don’t think I would be called by a public broadcaster so quickly. I don’t think you would either, no. But I’m having a great time here.”
Open and honest
Hélène is sober about it. “I’m always very open and honest about it. We shouldn’t make such a fuss about it. I’m not going to play anyone off against each other. I like it here. I think it’s important, because I called you about this, that you stay here, but I couldn’t wait that long, so I thought: I’ll take the decision, I’ll just stay.”
Wilfred: “No RTL, just SBS?”
Hélène decides: “Yes.”
