With more than 30 years of impeccable history, Royal Class has established itself as the undisputed leader in the Argentine private aviation market, having flown the equivalent of almost 100 trips around the world without incident and transported all of the country’s democratic presidents. Now, its innovative business unit, FractionalOwnership, redefines access to private aviation. “This model reflects our commitment to excellence, offering an efficient solution to enjoy the privileges of your own aircraft with a lower investment.”says Lic. in Business Administration Sebastián González Cazón, CEO of Royal Class.

News: How does the FractionalOwnership model work and how is it different from the traditional purchase of an aircraft?

Sebastian Gonzalez Cazón: FractionalOwnership is a globally consolidated system, but in Argentina, the lack of specific proposals would have limited its development. At Royal Class, we identified this opportunity and decided to lead its implementation. This model allows customers to acquire a fraction of an aircraft, accessing the same benefits as a single owner, but with a significantly lower investment. In a context where purchasing an aircraft in a traditional format can be a challenge, especially due to lack of credit, this proposal attracts a new audience. In just over a year, we have incorporated four aircraft under this modality and we are closing an investment round to add a fifth, consolidating the success of this business model.

N: What are the main economic and operational benefits of opting for fractional sales?

SGC: The main benefit is that customers have access to the privileges of their own aircraft for a fraction of the total cost. Additionally, if the purchased aircraft is not available – due to maintenance, use by another owner or commercial flights – our system guarantees access to another equivalent aircraft in the fleet at no additional cost. This ensures a continuous and efficient flight experience, allowing customers to enjoy private aviation with an optimized investment and the quality that characterizes Royal Class.

N: With the four aircraft already operating under this model, how do you ensure constant availability for customers, even in cases of maintenance or commercial flights, and how does this impact the user experience?

SGC: With four aircraft in the FractionalOwnership model, we guarantee virtually uninterrupted availability. Unlike traditional ownership, where scheduled maintenance can limit availability, our system ensures a ready-to-fly alternative. Our hours clearing scheme allows customers to choose any aircraft in our fleet that suits their needs. For example, a customer with a fraction on a 5-seat aircraft can opt for one with 8, 12 or up to 19 passengers, depending on the type of operation that best suits their trip. This versatility significantly improves the user experience, positioning our model as one of the most competitive options on the market.

N: What strategies or innovations is your company implementing to continue expanding this business unit, especially in terms of incorporating new aircraft or improving the customer experience in the fractional modality?

SGC: Our strategy focuses on expanding the fleet to offer a greater variety of aircraft that respond to the needs of our customers and investors. Incorporating new aircraft generates economies of scale that optimize costs and reinforce our market leadership. Additionally, we are focused on perfecting the customer experience through personalized services and more efficient operational processes, ensuring that FractionalOwnership becomes increasingly attractive and functional.

N: Could you share some real examples of clients who have opted for this model, and how it has improved their operation compared to traditional alternatives?

SGC: A notable example is that of a client with a fraction in a turboprop, an ideal aircraft for landing on unpaved runways to tour their fields. For trips to more distant destinations or paved runways, from this model onwards you usually prefer a jet from our fleet, which is faster and quieter. Another case is that of a client with a fraction of a large aircraft, perfect for long-range flights, but who choose smaller aircraft for short journeys, such as to Punta del Este, increasing efficiency depending on the type of operation. In both cases, our system allows us to alternate aircraft according to needs, while larger aircraft generate income on commercial flights to destinations such as the United States or Europe, optimizing investment and improving operational efficiency compared to traditional ownership.
