Washington (dpa-AfX)-The US Democrats have published a copy of an alleged birthday greeting from the US President to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, from which Donald Trump denies to be author. In an X-Post of the Democrats from the committee of the House of Representatives responsible for supervisory issues, the outlines of a woman’s body can be seen in which an alleged dialogue between Trump and Epstein is shown. This shows Trump’s signature, although it is unclear whether it is real. The US newspaper “Wall Street Journal” also published the copy.
Trump’s spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt reacted to X a little later and rejected the reporting of the newspaper as “wrong”. “As I always said, it is very clear that President Trump did not draw this picture and did not sign,” she emphasized and announced further steps in court.
For the Republican President, a topic that is unpleasant for him is now coming back. For weeks he had tried to let the Epstein affair rest and he had defended claims to disclose all documents in this case – even though he had promised this in the election campaign.

In mid -July, the “Wall Street Journal” reported exclusively about the letter that is said to have been part of an album with many birthday wishes. The album is said to have been made for Epstein’s birthday in 2003. The newspaper had rely on an insight into documents. The album was not released at the time, also not the original letter. On Monday (local time) the newspaper now published a photo of the alleged Trump letter.
Trump had already defended himself against the presentation of the newspaper. He covered the sheet and media module Rupert Murdoch, whose portfolio includes the newspaper, with a lawsuit and demands billions.
In its article, the newspaper had Trump with the words: “This is fake. It is a false report of the” Wall Street Journal “”. And the US President was also quoted: “I don’t draw pictures of women”. And: “It is not my language. It’s not my words.”
Robert Garcia, a member of the Democrats in the committee, wrote on X that the Democrats in the committee had just received the Epstein birthday and other documents from the Epstein estate.
