Winners of the Best Groningen Film 2021.
The winners of the Best Groningen Films 2021 were announced on Saturday evening in the Forum in Groningen. The award ceremony took place for the eighth time. There were four categories. This time, for the first time, there was a public award, which could be voted in the month of March.
The winner in the category for best fiction film is Rosa Geertsma-Lackroy with A Self-fulfilling Prophecy † Frank Boxman won with Maartenscollege in the category for best commissioned film. Okki Poortvliet is winner of the prize for best non-fiction with ice cream † The winner of the OOG TV Talent Award, intended for young filmmakers between the ages of 16 and 24, is Stefan Nuiver.
Cheque
The winning makers of the best commissioned film, best non-fiction film and best fiction film each received a check for 1000 euros in rental credit at Bear Cinema Rentals. The winner of the OOG TV Talent Award received 500 euros. The winner of the audience award is John Croezen with The fantastic flying competition †
Best Groninger Film is an initiative of Forum Groningen in collaboration with OOG TV, Groninger Archives and Bear Cinema Rentals. The professional jury consisted of Marjoleine Boonstra (filmmaker, visual artist and photographer), Vamba Sherif (writer, journalist and film critic) and Golden Calf winner Esther Rots (film producer, writer, director and editor).
The winning films in all categories have been selected on the basis of quality and the connection with the province of Groningen.
