Rooney Mara will play Audrey Hepburn in new biopic

Audrey Hepburn is getting her own biopic and nobody else but Rooney Mara is supposed to embody the Hollywood icon? This news is currently making the rounds – and although there is no precise information about the content yet, there are still some facts about the exciting project. It has already been confirmed that “Call Me By Your Name” filmmaker Luca Guadagnino is said to be directing the script and “Edison – A Life Full of Light” screenwriter Michael Mitnick is said to have been committed to the script.

Rooney Mara not only looks like Hepburn, she’s also enjoying similar successes to the Breakfast at Tiffany’s actress, who passed away in 1993. The 36-year-old has been nominated twice for an Oscar – once for her role as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s thriller The Blind (2009) and for her performance in the drama Carol, starring Cate Blanchett.

Audrey Hepburn was one of the few Hollywood actresses to have won every major industry award — including an Emmy, an Oscar, a Tony, and a posthumous Grammy. For her debut role as Princess Ann in the romantic comedy A Heart and a Crown, Hepburn became known to a worldwide audience and received her first and only Academy Award for it. Other important films for her career were “Sabrina” (1954), “A Sweet Face” (1957), “My Fair Lady” (1964), “Charade” (1963) and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961).
