At a house on the Arnoutlaan in Hoeven, a fire raged on Saturday evening. When the fire brigade arrived, large flames came from one side of the roof.
The fire brigade pulled out with two fire trucks and a platform. There was no one in the moment the fire broke out. The owner of the house came home later and was taken care of at the neighbors.
There was a lot of smoke development. That is why the Safety Region advised local residents to close windows, doors and ventilation in the event of smoking nuisance.
Around nine o’clock the fire brigade had the fire under control. The left side of the roof has burned considerably. According to a spokesperson for the Security Region, how large the damage is is still unclear. It is also not clear how the fire originated.
Road salt due to extinguishing water
Because it freezes outside, the fire extinguishing water on the street can freeze. That is why a grit has been sent to the street, which ensures that the environment remains passable.
