RondoM organizes King’s Day concert and art auction

Art and music center RondoM is organizing a pleasant music evening around King’s Day on Thursday 27 April and an art auction with works by Menno Meyer on Saturday afternoon 6 May.

The music evening on King’s Day starts at 8 p.m. Collaboration is provided by the mixed choir Melody Singers from Meppel, conducted by Svetla Anastasova with Tjako van Schie on the wing. The brass ensemble Goed Koper, conducted by Angelica Braam, will also perform. The organization treats visitors to an orange bitter. Afterwards there is an opportunity to make a voluntary contribution at the exit.

Art auction works by Menno Meyer

RondoM received a large collection of jewellery, brooches, rings, sculptures, design items, decorative items, paintings and other objects from the estate of the visual artist/goldsmith/designer Menno Meyer, who died in November last year. These items will be auctioned by auction on Saturday afternoon 6 May.

Menno Meyer was one of the Netherlands’ most famous sculptors/goldsmiths/designers. A number of his works also have a place in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. There are also several large sculptures by him in the public space. Meyer worked with silver, stainless steel, bronze and recycled materials. Its timeless, playful, sleek design still appeals to many people.
The items offered for sale can be viewed on Saturday 6 May from 2.30 pm, followed by the actual auction at 3.00 pm. The entrance is free.
