Ronaldo makes Premier League return with Cruzeiro

A good nine months after joining Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte, the former Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo has managed to return to Brazil’s first division with the traditional club.

With a 3-0 win against Vasco da Gama, Cruzeiro made the promotion perfect. “It’s the icing on our cake. We’ll celebrate for a few days and then think about next year,” Ronaldo told SporTV.

According to local media, the world champion from 1994 and 2002 had acquired almost 90 percent of the shares for 400 million reais, the equivalent of around 79 million euros, in December 2021.

Three-time world footballer Ronaldo started his career with Cruzeiro in 1993 and 1994 before moving to Europe and starting his world career with PSV Eindhoven. He then played for FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
