A stadium under the tree. A few minutes ago the final project of the Pietralata plant was delivered at the Campidoglio. Roma made it known: “We announce with great satisfaction that today, 23 December 2025, we have delivered the PFTE (technical-economic feasibility project) of the new stadium, a fundamental step that brings the Club closer to the creation of one of the most ambitious and modern sports infrastructures in Europe”, we read in the incipit of the official press release.

“The deposited project – we read in the note – which precedes the executive project phase, represents the synthesis of in-depth work, carried out with technical rigor, attention to sustainability and with a clear vision: to offer the city of Rome and its fans a facility worthy of their history, their passion and their future”. The wait is therefore over thanks to a fundamental step to start construction and respect the time necessary to nominate the stadium for the 2032 European Championships. The file of the technical-economic feasibility project of the Giallorossi’s future facility has been attached to the famous PEC, which they have been waiting for in Campidoglio for a few months.

Other details are then provided in the note from the Giallorossi club. “The new stadium will be characterized by a monumental Curva Sud, the largest in Europe, designed as the beating heart of the stadium and symbol of Roma passion. It is an iconic architecture inspired by the Roman tradition, with contemporary lines and a strong link with the local territory. With modern, multifunctional spaces designed to live the AS Roma experience not only during match days”. The Friedkins, expected in Rome at the beginning of 2026, then move on to thank you: “AS Roma would like to extend a special and personal thanks to the Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, for his support, his availability and the constant collaboration that have made this fundamental progress possible. The delivery of the final project represents a concrete step towards the start of the works and confirms the Club’s determination to provide Rome with a modern, environmentally sustainable and economically sound facility, which can become a source of pride for the city and for everyone its fans. The importance of the work, in terms of size, modernity of the stadium, potential urban impact and expected timing, has allowed the inclusion of the Pietralata stadium among the potential stadiums designated to host UEFA Euro 2032. AS Roma continues to work with passion, responsibility and ambition: the future of our home is ever closer”.
