Incoming, in place of the Frenchman who disappointed, in the sights are Prati from Cagliari, Reitz from Gladbach and Doucouré from Everton
Four games as a starter in just over five months at a total price of 23 million euros. Enzo Le Fée’s record at Roma is disastrous and is already about to come to an end. The French midfielder, in fact, accepted the offer from Real Betis after having also examined a couple of offers from France and Germany. The Spanish club, which had already looked for Le Fée in the summer, abandoned the Ceballos track and decided to focus straight on the Roma player who since Ranieri’s arrival has only played in the league for an hour in Como. The coach doesn’t consider him ready yet and sees him in the hierarchy behind all the other midfielders.
WHAT A FLOP
—
Le Fée arrived in July from Rennes amid skepticism even from the French media (given the valuation and the uninspiring year). A player strongly desired by sporting director Ghisolfi as De Rossi also admitted in a press conference. In recent months, however, between tactical misunderstandings and injuries his contribution has been minimal. So the former Lorient player asked for a change of scenery. The agent canvassed old and new admirers and found the door open in Seville where coach Pellegrini likes him quite a bit. The formula must now be established with Roma willing to sell the player on loan with the right to buy. The deal could close immediately after next Sunday’s derby, otherwise Le Fée would consider other offers given that he has no intention of staying at Roma.
THE ALTERNATIVE
—
At that point, however, Ranieri would need an alternative in midfield, perhaps identifying an element more similar in characteristics to Manu Koné. Ranieri really likes Matteo Prati who is finding little space in Nicola’s Cagliari while last year he was one of the key elements of the team led by Sir Claudio. Two other profiles monitored for some time are those of Rocco Reitz of Borussia Mönchengladbach and Abdoulaye Doucouré of Everton. The Giallorossi market is in turmoil and could also see Zalewski’s departure a few months before the contract expires. De Zerbi’s Marseille like the Pole, but a small adjustment would be needed to have him already in January.
