Half a year before the end of the contract

Agustín Rogel left Herta BSC for his youth club Club Nacional six months before the end of his contract. After the Uruguayans presented the 28-year-old defender somewhat prematurely at the end of January, his contract in the capital has now been finally terminated.
Rogel came to Herha in August 2022 for 450,000 euros, but was never really happy in Berlin. After playing 20 games in the Bundesliga in the 2022/23 season, he was left out after relegation – also because he missed almost ten months in the second year due to a knee operation. He spent the past season on loan in Brazil at Internacional. Its market value has fallen from 4.5 million to 500,000 euros since 2022.
“Unfortunately things didn’t go as well for Agu as both sides had originally hoped. We would still like to thank him for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future,” said sports director Benjamin Weber, commenting on the change. He took his first professional steps for Club Nacional in 2017 before heading to Europe. Hertha saves the remaining salary by terminating the contract early.
