Roeselare wins opening match in title fight against Maaseik

Maaseik could not yet win on the field of Roeselare this season, and that was not possible last night either. Roeselare won 3-1 (24-26, 25-13, 25-19, 26-24).

Strong Roeselare

Knack Volley Roeselare had a difficult start in the first set. The West Flemings continue to fight, but lose the first set 24-26. Roeselare then stepped up its game. Under the impulse of Estonian Märt Tammearu, Roeselare won set 2, 25-13. The home team then pushes on. The Argentinian Pablo Kukartsev took his team in tow in set 3, 25-19. The fourth set is a lot more exciting. Roeselare still wins 26-24 and thus wins the first game in the title final. The team that can win three games first is the champion.

On Tuesday, the arch rivals in Maaseik will face each other again. Next Friday there will be played again in Roeselare. This may be followed by duels on Tuesday 9 May in Maaseik and on Friday 12 May in Roeselare. Roeselare is going for a fourteenth title and a third in a row.
