Among other things, the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer Selenskyj invited to a summit of the European heads of state and government in London, on which it is to be illuminated how Ukraine can be supported in the future.

Rod Stewart posted a picture in his Instagram story, where Starmer and Selenskyj shake their hands. He wrote “proud to be British. Well done, Strander, that you received Selenskyj in the Downing Street. ” And further: “We have to continue to support the Ukrainians.”

It is not the first time that Stewart takes a position on the war in Ukraine. In 2024 he dedicated his song “Rhythm of My Heart” to the Ukrainian at a concert in Leipzig. In the meantime, he was on stage in a blue-yellow suit and chanted “Fuck Putin”. For the latter, however, he also received whistles and boos.

Stewart is not the only star from the music world who commented on the subject and shows solidarity with Ukraine. Jack White also described Selenskyj on Instagram as a “very brave man who deserves the support of the world. He has taken up the struggle for his people and his country with bravery and honor ”.
