The robot was developed by the Ypres company Bots-R-Here, which imports the technology from China and adapts it to the customer’s needs. On site, the robots are controlled with a remote control. The company hopes to be able to use them in the future as a tool in different environments, such as sports clubs or healthcare institutions.

“In football, robots can help players learn certain movements and techniques,” says Bots-R-Here. “We can program these actions so that the robot demonstrates them, after which players can imitate them.”

The Kortrijk players were already enthusiastic about their new teammate.
