Robèrt van Beckhoven shines briefly as a singing teddy bear

Robért van Beckhoven shone in full regalia as a teddy bear in The Masked Singer on Friday evening. The musical adventure was short-lived for the Oisterwijk master baker. The public gave him only one performance. Van Beckhoven himself is sober about it: “Let me bake.”

In the popular RTL4 program, well-known Dutch people are dressed in a suit, making them completely unrecognizable. They then go masked, sing and dance for the title, while a number of panel members have to guess which famous Dutchman is hiding in the suit.

“They look at your pitch and then they look for a suitable song.”

Van Beckhoven responded on Saturday in the radio program Graat & De Laat on his minutes of fame as a stage animal.

He didn’t have to think very long when he was asked. “Let’s do it, that’s nice. I consulted with the woman for a while and she also agreed.”

He received one singing lesson and was then allowed to go on stage right away, which went quite well for him. Van Beckhoven himself thinks so too. “It was a good song for me. They look at your pitch and then they look for a suitable song.” And the suit fit like a glove.

Van Beckhoven himself watched the broadcast on Friday evening at talk show Jinek, because the loser slides out every Friday evening. The Masked Singer at.

His children were ordered to go home to The Masked Singer watching where they first saw their dad in a teddy suit on stage. “They didn’t expect me to participate at all.” His participation also caused a lot of surprise among the panel members, none of the panel members guessed correctly.

“My sausage rolls were not allowed through the entire building. Then I fell through the basket.”

When Van Beckhoven is a guest somewhere, he always brings something delicious, he told talk show Jinek. But those sausage rolls were allowed during The Masked Singer not circulate throughout the building. “Many people know that I always bring something tasty, so my sausage rolls were not allowed throughout the building. Then I fell through the basket.”

With a spinning bottom and in pajamas, the teddy bear finally said goodbye to the program. He liked that singing and he also regularly does it in the bakery. But his singing career will certainly not be continued: “No, let me bake!”
