Robert Farken actually cost a weak final round at the World Athletics World Cup the final over the 1,500 meters. But afterwards it came to the turn.

Robert Farken reached the final at the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo over the 1,500 meters-but this in a different way than expected. Actually, the 27-year-old had already left. But the World Athletics Association made it clear after the race: Farmen can take part in the final run.

What happened? Before the final round in the semi -finals, Farken was still in the best position in order to reach the final in sport. But 150 meters before the finish, the other athletes tightened the pace. Then the Olympic champion Cole Hocker (USA) pushed past him. The German long -distance runner fell back and first missed the finals.

Afterwards, farken seemed visibly irritated, looked unsettled. In the ARD, he became clear in the interview: “I think there were many situations in the race that were pretty much at the border from everyone involved. I am still stunned by my home stretch.”

Farcs were not looking for excuses. “I came on the home straight and thought: easy, easy, I have a grip. And then nothing happened anymore, or it went backwards.” He has no explanation for this.

The moderator then addressed him to an obvious bump into his competitor stool. Farken honestly: “I would have burst anyway.” With which he apparently said that he would have collapsed in terms of performance even without the Rempler.

Shortly before the end, Farken described his drop in performance as inexplicable. He does not yet know whether he wanted to take a protest because of stools. He didn’t worry about that.

In the meantime, however, it is clear: Farken is in the final over the 1,500 meters. The World Athletics Association officially made the turn in Tokyo in the evening. Accordingly, Cole Hocker was disqualified because of his behavior. For this, Robert Farken was transferred to the final by jury decision and is at the start of the 1,500 meters at the finals. The Norwegian superstar Jakob had already failed in the lead.
