In Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen played a safe victory. This led to a lot of frustration in the team, especially with a leading player.

A clear tour of outnumbered, in the end only one point: Bayer Leverkusen experienced a bitter setback at 3: 3 in Bremen. Captain Robert Andrich then found clear words for the condition of his team.

“Everyone played for themselves, everyone ran around alone on the pitch,” said the German international after the game in the Weser Stadium and accused his teammate with selfishness. In the meantime, the “Werkelf” had led two goals – and that against decimated hosts. But Leverkusen collapsed completely in the final phase.

Andrich spoke of a “symbol of our current situation.” The 30-year-old followed his colleagues: “We have too many people who deal with other things or just with themselves. I don’t know if I have ever experienced it at Bayer.”

Even before the late slumping, the game against the personnel -weakened Bremen was “a bit of need against misery”, according to Andrich. He did not want to accept the ongoing upheavals in the squad and the non -completed transfer planning.

“It has nothing to do with any unrest or with players or processes,” said Andrich clearly. “We are on the pitch and have to do the rules, and we can’t constantly hide behind any things. It only has to do with our own motivation.”

Coach Erik Ten Hag, who continues to wait for his first Bundesliga victory with Bayer, has apparently not been able to bring a clear line into the team. Andrich versatile: “The coach is the one who is above. Of course, he has to get the most calm from the top,” said the midfielder. “But in the end we are the ones that are on the pitch.”
