“Robbers probably watched too much of the film Ocean’s Eleven”: we already know this about the art theft in the Louvre

The world-famous Louvre museum in Paris will remain closed all day today after thieves broke into it in broad daylight. According to the newspaper ‘Le Parisien’, the perpetrators made off with nine “invaluable” jewels from the Napoleonic collection. One of the masterpieces that was stolen was said to have been found outside the museum. Art historian Arthur Brand calls the robbery of the Louvre “unprecedented” and makes a comparison with the heist film ‘Ocean’s Eleven’. This is what we already know.
