Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, is accused of murdering his parents.
According to the TMZ website, Reiner’s schizophrenia medication made him “unstable and dangerous.”
Insider sources tell the magazine that Reiner has been in psychiatric treatment for his mental health problems. Just a month before the suspected murder of his parents, Reiner’s condition changed alarmingly and his behavior became dangerous.
According to TMZ, Reiner was recently treated in Los Angeles at a rehab facility that specializes in mental health and substance abuse issues. According to the magazine, institutional care costs up to 60,000 euros per month, and many wealthy parents have sent their children suffering from various problems there for treatment.
According to sources, Nick Reiner’s medication was changed about 3-4 weeks before the suspected murder. Doctors changed Nick’s medication to stabilize his condition, but it didn’t. Nick’s heavy drug use is also known to have worsened the symptoms of schizophrenia.
– Nick lost his mind because of the drugs, a source told TMZ.
Rob and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their home on Sunday, December 14th. According to the authorities, the Reiners had been stabbed.
The son, Nick Reiner, was arrested a few hours later on suspicion of murder.
