Cult director Rob Reiner (“Stand By Me,” “Harry & Sally”) and his wife Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home. The police are investigating suspicion of murder, but no further details were initially known.

Michelle Singer: photographer, producer, philanthropist
Singer began her career as a photographer. Many people know the book, but don’t know that the picture on the cover is hers: Singer designed the cover of “The Art of the Deal” by Donald Trump. She was particularly active around film sets and celebrities, photographing stars at premieres and galas.
Hollywood became her home. After her first experiences as a location photographer, she developed music videos. She was in the production department for Reiner’s “Misery” and is listed as “Special Photographer” by the film database IMDB.
In recent years, Singer has also worked as a producer. She developed Reiner’s film “Shock And Awe” (2017), a documentary about the comedian and filmmaker Albert Brooks (“Defending My Life”, 2023), a documentary film about Christian nationalism in the USA (“God & Country”, 2023) and also Reiner’s return to his mockumentary classic – “Spinal Tap 2” – from this year.

Rob Reiner met Michele while he was filming Harry & Sally (it is said that she influenced him to ensure a more positive ending to the film). The two married in 1989 and had a model marriage until the end, which resulted in three children: sons Jake and Nick and daughter Romy. Reiner also brought along adopted daughter Tracy Reiner from his first marriage to Penny Marshall.
Together with her husband, Singer was also active as a philanthropist. In 1997 they founded the I Am Your Child Foundation (later Parents’ Action for Children) together. With videos and media campaigns, including celebrities, they aimed to make the scientifically proven importance of early childhood more publicly known and to make parents aware of it.
The couple tried to exert political influence by supporting programs to promote early childhood development and health education. While Reiner often appeared as a speaker, his wife acted more in the background.
