‘Rob Goossens is fired from RTL Boulevard, anger about his shit’

Rob Goossens will excel as show expert at RTL Boulevard, Giel Beelen expects. And Tina Nijkamp? He thinks that Rob has certainly made his boss very angry. “What shit.”

It is unbelievable: the man who has been reporting for years on RTL Boulevard about cheating celebrities and their image damage, is also looking for fun outside the home. He has sent all kinds of wrong messages to his ChatGPT mistress and some other women. And he spent several minutes confessing this at the RTL Boulevard desk.

Extremely stupid

How does Tina Nijkamp view this whole issue? Considering Rob’s position, she thinks it is ‘extremely stupid’, she says in Tina’s TV Update. “Not so smart. So I also sent Rob Goossens a text saying: ‘Well, how stupid, but you’re not infallible either.’ Something like that. Well, that’s true. That’s how I feel about it too. Everyone can make mistakes, but the fault is his.”

During his TV confession, Rob made a justified, but unrelated comment about Linda de Mol, who cut out RTL Boulevard boss Jorien van der Plas (Albert Verlinde’s niece). And that has caused permanent image damage not only to Jorien, but to the entire program. For example, according to Victor Vlam, that woman is ‘incompetent’.

Linda-knipgate

Tina feels bad for Jorien. “I also sent Jorien a text later when all this was such a fuss. I said: ‘Gosh Jorien, I just want to give you a piece of my mind, because how annoying that this has exploded so terribly, the whole Linda cut-off.’”

Does she know that woman? “I hardly know either of them. I had coffee with Rob a few times, I met Jorien once, so that’s not my concern at all, but as editor-in-chief and former editor-in-chief of Shownieuws I can imagine how this went.”

Tough job

Tina herself was the boss of Shownieuws. “That’s a really, really tough job. In fact, I found that job harder than program director of SBS 6, Net5 and Veronica. That has to do with the fact that you have a very large team under you with all kinds of editors, reporters and so on, and a whole bunch of experts.”

In other words: the celebrities of the show. “You are also very, very, very busy with that, because they all have something. They all have a stylist, they all have a separate make-up artist, then they have this, then that, then they want more in the picture, less in the picture. There’s a lot of hassle. You are just very busy as editor-in-chief, just with the organization.”

‘Yes, shit!’

Tina can relate well to Jorien. “I can imagine how this happened. That Rob must have called Jorien – so I don’t know this, do I, because it’s an assumption and I certainly haven’t spoken to either of them about it – saying: ‘I have a problem, I have chatted with someone else and I want discuss on the air.’”

“Well, then Jorien of course thought: yeah, shit, I don’t really feel like doing that, this is not the intention, I chose you from a lot of people – because you can bet that a lot of people want to be entertainment experts at Boulevard – right? because I thought: I don’t have to worry about you, because he is married and just has a child, this is safe, and then this.”

Completely exploded

That Jorien is just fed up with Rob, Tina thinks. “I think Jorien was especially disappointed in Rob for doing this as a young father. Then of course they had to think: what are we going to do with it on the air? They decided that Rob could say something about it.”

“Jorien was of course angry. At least, that’s what I assume, that’s what I would have been, because it is of course a lot of work for nothing, because why did that boy start chatting with someone again, I would think. Rob made a confession on the air and then suddenly Linda de Mol came along and then Jorien of course completely exploded.”

Someone else’s shit

That Jorien cut out Rob’s Linda sneer ‘out of emotion’, Tina thinks. “That she said: ‘Yes, listen, this is not the intention that you also involve someone else with your own mistake.’ I think that’s why she cut this out, actually out of some kind of emotion, anger.”

“I imagine that could have happened to me too. That you’ve been busy all day with this kind of shit from someone else and then you get this on top of it. I think it has to do with that and that is why I have not written much about it and have not put it in my top 5 blunder, because I think that the blame lies with Rob.”

Compassion

Of course, compassion for Jorien does not mean that she has not committed the biggest TV blunder of 2024. “Look, I don’t think it’s smart that Boulevard never said anything about it again and even less smart that Rob also makes a joke about it, because later he chatted with someone else again. I would stop doing that.”

What does she advise? “Maybe Rob should just say: ‘Listen, I shouldn’t have involved Linda, because that didn’t make sense at all,’ and Jorien should have said: ‘I won’t cut anymore.’ But it is also true that RTL Boulevard is of course not really a journalistic program, is it?”

Wow, the second in a short time to say that – Johan Derksen also said that this week. Bridget Tweebeeke Maasland can cry.

Rob out?

Anyway: will Rob keep his lucrative job at RTL Boulevard? Radio maker Giel Beelen cannot imagine it. “Rob is also in bad business terms? He flies out? I think so!”, he shouts in RoddelPraat Extra.

Aran Bade is eagerly ready to take over. Presenter Dennis Schouten, also a good friend of Rob, says: “I think he’s a really nasty guy. Aran is trying to saw his chair legs.”

Giel: “It is also a lot smoother. It slides in everywhere!”
