According to the data illustrated in Trento and which were collected during meetings in schools by the “Don’t Close Your Eyes” Observatory, in collaboration with Skuola.net And Motorways for Italythe new generations are showing ever greater attention to road safety issues, even if risky behavior remains widespread. In fact, almost one young person in two claims to use a smartphone while driving, while two out of three young people admit to getting behind the wheel when they are tired or tired and four out of ten regularly exceed the speed limits: these are numbers that should not be underestimated, as speeding is one of the main causes of accidents together with drunkenness and distracted driving. At the same time, the data highlights encouraging signs: compared to 2023, compliance with safety regulations such as the use of seat belts in cars and helmets on scooters is growing, and awareness of the consequences linked to incorrect behavior behind the wheel is increasing. In particular, eight out of ten young people recognize a concrete positive effect of road safety education activities carried out with experts, police forces, testimonials and family members of road victims.
