RKC goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen back in the starting lineup, with helmet

Etienne Vaessen is back at RKC Waalwijk. He defends his team’s goal in the home game against Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday evening. The goalkeeper did not play for six weeks after a hard collision. On Saturday evening, Vaessen will wear a helmet to protect his head.

On September 30, Vaessen collided hard with Ajax striker Brian Brobbey. He lost consciousness and was resuscitated on the field for a long time.

The RKC teammates were then so upset that the game was stopped. RKC and Ajax will play the remainder of the match on December 6.

The score at the stop was 2-3. RKC still has about six minutes to do something about this deficit. An audience is also allowed for the remainder of the match.
