This is reported by ‘La Dernière Heure’. The reason is the intense and historically exceptional heat wave that is sweeping across our country this week.

LOOK. What measures is the government taking?

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is a consultative body of the FPS Public Health that monitors and coordinates health crises in our country. In addition to health experts, the group also includes representatives of federal and regional governments, including the cabinets of Minister of Health Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit) and the Flemish Minister of Welfare Caroline Gennez (Vooruit). The group assesses risks to public health and determines what measures are necessary.

In the context of the heat wave, the RMG can decide, among other things, to send out additional warnings and guidelines, to scale up the heat plan or to provide healthcare institutions such as hospitals and residential care centers with additional recommendations.

According to the information from ‘La Dernière Heure’, no major measures are expected for the time being.
