The city had previously announced that the number of beach bars would decrease from thirteen to eight. With this reform, Blankenberge wants to create more open space and a quieter beach image. The events beach at De Pier will also be expanded and there will be only one operator per location.
According to mayor Björn Prasse, that vision remains intact. “You build a strong beach together. Their input provided us with valuable insights. This adjustment creates more opportunities for smaller entrepreneurs, without detracting from our vision of an attractive, high-quality and future-oriented beach.”
