A native of Tornio Riia Nieminen made an all-time result in the one-handed deadlift championships held in Jämsä on Saturday.

Competing in the under-75-kilogram weight class, Nieminen’s third-round result of 125 kilograms is the largest weight lifted by a single woman in any weight class in the history of the competition.

In a one-handed deadlift, a normal powerlifting bar is grabbed by the middle part and the bar is lifted from between the legs directly in the same way as a normal deadlift.

You can watch the performance in the Instagram video at the beginning of the story.
