Singer-songwriter Rick Hilberts will present his new Drenthe-language EP ‘Mörgen’ on Saturday April 6 at d’Rentmeester in Valthermond.
The EP is entirely in the Dréents dialect.
Hilberts pays tribute to the Drenthe language with his music. “Texts about nothing and everything, great and small suffering, longing, views and windmills,” says Hilberts.
Hilberts scored well in 2021 during the Drèents Liedtiesfestival with the song ‘As ik ‘t wait’. In 2022 he won the festival with ‘Falling Stars’. The jury, consisting of Marjolein Scherphuis, Hijlco Span & Janine Vos, praised the song with the words: innovative and unearthly beautiful, a simple song that needs nothing more than a good singer and beautiful lyrics.’
