The 51-year-old star comedian Richard Groenendijk lives partly in Rotterdam and partly in Goeree-Overflakkee. Quite a distance from Hilversum, where he has to be when TV recordings take place. How does he solve that? Well, simple. Linda de Mol’s castle in the chic Gooise hamlet of Crailo turns out to be his accommodation address.

A big party

Lately we see Richard less and less often on TV, but he will always make an exception for Linda. “I think I Love Holland is really one of the most fun things I have ever done on television. You forget that you are on TV, I think it is a big party,” he says Show news.

Richard has learned one lesson. “That even though I love TV very much, there is only one place for me and that is really on stage. That’s where my heart lies. Life is short, it is all very fragile and you have to do what you enjoy most in life.”

IHVH only

A personality show? Richard doesn’t want that anymore. “Yes, of course I am now lucky that I am doing I Love Holland. I just do that as a sidekick and that role is fantastic for me, but I have also been in formats where I had to carry everything and I just didn’t like that and it showed, so I won’t do that. do more.”

Richard is therefore quite exclusive with Ik Hou Van Holland. Show news expert Patty Brard: “There will be a nice I Love Holland episode on New Year’s Eve, then they will record eight new ones in January, that’s what he will do, but for the rest…”

Sleeping with Linda

Patty notices that Richard gets along very well with Linda. “You can just see that it is a unity. When he is here for those recordings, he also stays with Linda and then he also goes shopping in the Gooi.”

She also has a good relationship with Richard. They were once even in the running to jointly take over the Palace for a Prikkie program. “Yes, we tried once, but it was so busy that it was impossible to assemble if you let the two of us restyle something,” she laughs.
