Despite all the rumours, Daniel Ricciardo will be driving for McLaren in Formula 1 next year.
“Yes, he has a contract with us,” said team boss Andreas Seidl after the first training session in Baku at “Sky” when asked the relevant question.
The Australian is under a lot of pressure after poor performances. McLaren boss Zak Brown recently questioned Ricciardo’s future with the traditional team from Woking.
“With the exception of Monza (2021, ed.) and a few other races, he did not meet his and our expectations,” Brown publicly counted his pilot after the Spanish GP.
One can only keep working and hope that “what doesn’t click at the moment will soon click”,
Brown later fueled rumors of a split from Ricciardo himself by hinting at a release clause in the Australian’s contract.
