December 28, 2025 – 7:15 a.mReading time: 1 min.

Ricardo Pietreczko from Laatzen was eliminated in the third round of the Darts World Cup. Three other Germans are still fighting for a place in the round of 16.
Ricardo “Pikachu” Pietreczko has been eliminated from the World Darts Championship in London. The 31-year-old German, who lives in Laatzen, lost 2:4 in the third round against Swede Andreas Harrysson on Saturday evening.
Pietreczko will receive prize money of 35,000 pounds for his participation in the third round. This means his tournament ends earlier than last year, when he reached the top 16 as the best German. With the elimination, “Pikachu” also missed out on making it into the top 32 in the world rankings.
Three other German professionals still have a chance of making it to the round of 16. Martin Schindler, Gabriel Clemens and Arno Merk will play their games on Sunday.
Martin Schindler, the German number one, meets the Englishman Ryan Searle at lunchtime. In the evening, Gabriel Clemens, former World Cup semi-finalist, will play against world number two Luke Humphries from England. Debutant Arno Merk faces a difficult task: He is competing against Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands, the former dominator of the sport.
