Dow Jones-Rheinmetall wants to manufacture satellites in Germany with a European partner. As the DAX group announced, a joint venture with the Finnish satellite manufacturer Iceye is to be founded. The two companies want to produce satellites together with the Joint Venture Rheinmetall Iceye Space Solutions. The Düsseldorf group will hold the majority of the JV with 60 percent.
The new company is to manufacture satellites as part of a Rheinmetall Space Cluster in Germany, including at the Neuss location. The start of production is planned from the second quarter of 2026. “With the founding of the new joint venture, we continue to join the domain space,” said Rheinmetall-CEO Armin Papperger.
