Although vacations in Poland were history after the release of their fifth album BOLDSTRIKER fifteen years ago, Georg Brenner and drummer Jan Philipp Janzen (von Spar and Die Sterne, among others) are now somewhat active again.
While their successful comeback album ALL was unfortunately released in the epidemic year of 2020, OBJECTS, BEINGS AND PARROTS should now see the light of day live much more quickly. It would be nice in any case, because these nine songs also exude such an elegantly condensed Krautrock energy that you would immediately want to dance to them.
From the psychedelically heightened “Abacus” to the funky, purified “Yours”, the two reliably ignite one groove fireworks display after the next: Be it their “Washing Machine”, which switches straight into the springy spin cycle, “Face Of Reason”, which unfolds its fat percussive impact as a dark reflection on deepening social divides, or the rhythmically intricate spinning one “Moonwalk” – the great art of repetition is revived here in a way that has not been experienced since the disappearance of Berlin Krautrock revenants Camera.
