The band Drängsal (yes, right, you are more than three recently) lives up to its name when it goes full on the new album, the madness of the world, as we currently endure it, names, names and does not expel the emotion, no so overwhelmed pathos. You haven’t heard something like that for a long time. What Max Gruber, Lukas Korn and Marvin Holley serve us with sexy aggression sweeps away, for which the three important bands, which worked from Hamburg from the mid-90s, formed the template.
Why is that? Because tribulation is loosened by the pedagogical and educational bustle, which ran through the early school, to make it fatter and make a lot better. The motto is as little and as much as necessary when the band lets off their opulence pop without a seat belt. “I am entitled to that, that’s just me” it says in “Funke and Petrol”, and: “The borders have shifted.” They take something out, they urge.
It is sworn “the oath”, a medieval -looking revenge fantasy against right pigs (?). “The Satanian heels” is a funny, once turned rock number, “I dreamed of the music” lets flowers sprout, choirs sound. Gruber, who, as you rumored, has been taking classic singing lessons for some time, shows everything in a vocal and does not hold back. That is the opposite of Cool. YES. EXACTLY. That’s how it works. English or German: no matter. Advanced poetry: no matter. This album is a symphony of ideas and sound claims.
