Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith form the New York duo Disiniblud. Her music is based on the indie folk of the early years, but alienates it with all kinds of digital means that in turn seems to be borrowed from the beautiful sides of the hyperpop: the most coherent “serpentine” probably does the Disiniblud formula: at the beginning nothing more than a few guitar accords, piano pad and processed singing à la Eartheater, develops the song to a Epos, in which crystalline walls from synthesizers shoot out of the ground and sterile electronic drumming contrasts the organic foundation of music with digital aesthetics.

Everything, really everything on this debut album, has been heard somewhere. Disiniblud, however, succeeds in the trick of letting indie, electronica and folk cling to music that combines apathy, empathy and an unlikely playfulness. This works because every Düdeln, every sugar -sweet vocal and every pompous drop in is inherent.
