In an even series, both teams are involved in the battle for the last playoff spots. Before the match, there was a difference of four points between them, but with TPS’s third consecutive victory, the gap grew to seven points.

However, the teams will continue in their previous positions, TPS in ninth and KooKoo in thirteenth.

Powers from the exchange

In the opening set, which ended in a tie 1–1, the players who had recently changed clubs and got up to speed in a new shirt succeeded in scoring.

First, there was a defender who played his third game in KooKoo Joni Jurmo, who opened his goal account for the season and increased his balance in the black and orange to 1+1. In the preceding 28 matches, in a smaller role in Ilves, only one assist was recorded.

The home team equalized at the end of a strong individual performance Leevi Teissala, for whom the goal in the ranks of the breeding club was already the fourth in eight games. The 23 matches in the autumn in HIFK were scoreless for the attacker.

TPS got to the final with a goal lead Kalle Väisänen hit midway through the second set.

The tenacious KooKoo pushed hard in the last minute of the final set, but TPS held on between the posts for the returner after a break of almost two months Eetu Anttila under.

– It’s nice to be able to enjoy this again, Teissala said in an interview with MTV.
