To mark Marius Müller-Westernhagen’s 75th birthday, a retrospective with 75 songs from all phases of the musician’s work will be published on December 1st. “Westernhagen 75 (75 Songs / 1974 – 2023)” is intended to combine the best of 23 studio records.
The retrospective presents a song from Westernhagen’s 28 previous albums for each year of life, in chronological order with at least one song from each work. These include “With Peppermint I’m Your Prince”, “At 18”, “Johnny W.”, “It’s Hotter”, “Let’s Live”, “Freedom”, “Sexy”, “Because I Love You”, “None Time”, “Here Again”, “Angel” and “Willless”.
The work is released in different versions, the largest configuration is a box with 75 songs on 8 LPs or 5 CDs with a hardcover book and some unpublished photos and liner notes. There is also an unreleased version of “Dicke” in a rehearsal room version, of “Steh auf” in the version from a “Wetten Dass?..” performance in 1992 and of “Unterenlos” in a duet with Sido.
In May 2024, Marius Müller-Westernhagen will go on tour, presented by ROLLING STONE.
