Announcing his retirement decision in a statement to the Brazilian press, 40-year-old Fernandinho said, “I am tired now. I ran for about 30 minutes today and felt exhausted. There is nothing left to motivate me in football. I have achieved everything I could. Now it is time to spend time with my family.” he said.
