Retired teachers can help until the end of the school year without impact on pension | Education

At the suggestion of Lalieux, the federal council of ministers approved a draft Royal Decree that allows retired teachers to work temporarily until 30 June. The income from these activities will not have any impact on their pension, according to the minister.

The measure was introduced in March 2020 so retired teachers could help in schools where the coronavirus was causing staff shortages. “The situation has not stabilized today. So it seemed essential to me to allow this reinforcement by retired and competent teachers, without having to worry about the consequences for their pension,” Lalieux said in a statement.
