Retailer Nordstrom promotes Jamie Nordstrom to chief merchandising officer

The US retail group Nordstrom Inc. has filled important key positions. On Wednesday, the company announced that three proven executives have been given new responsibilities with immediate effect.

Jamie Nordstrom, who has been with the group for 28 years and most recently served as Chief Stores Officer, was promoted to Chief Merchandising Officer. In his new role, he replaces Teri Bariquit, who announced her retirement earlier this year.

Fanya Chandler will be responsible for the Nordstrom chain’s branch network as President, Nordstrom Stores. She can already look back on 32 years with the group, during which she held various management positions. Until her promotion was announced, she managed Nordstrom’s operations in the Southwest market region.

Another company veteran took over the newly created position of president, Nordstrom Rack. Gemma Lionello spent the past 35 years at Nordstrom and was most recently responsible for the Northeast region. In the future, she will, among other things, drive forward the expansion of the outlet chain Nordstrom Rack through “new openings in key markets”.

All three executives will now serve on the group’s executive board and will report directly to President and Chief Brand Officer Pete Nordstrom.
