Eurozone retail traded slightly better in November. In a monthly comparison, the industry’s sales increased by 0.8 percent, as the European statistical office Eurostat announced on Friday in Luxembourg. Economists had expected an average growth of 0.6 percent. The rise follows a slowdown of a revised 1.5 percent in October.

In November, 0.9 percent fewer sales were made of groceries than in the previous month. On the other hand, non-food sales increased by 1.6 percent. However, the mail order and internet trade turned over 0.4 percent less. (dpa)
