Copenhagen fashion fairs merge: CIFF takes over Revolver

The two major fashion fairs in the Danish capital Copenhagen will belong together in the future. On Thursday, Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) announced the upcoming takeover of competing event Revolver. In the course of the transaction, both trade fairs would be “united from summer 2023”, but should remain as independent formats, according to a statement.

Accordingly, the entire organization team of the Revolver trade fair will “move to the CIFF team in the headquarters in the Bella Center Copenhagen”, from which both trade fairs will be “centrally coordinated” in the future. With this step, the trade fair experience in the fashion metropolis Copenhagen will be “renewed and improved”, which would benefit the entire fashion industry in Scandinavia, the CIFF announced.

However, the two “unique trade fair concepts” are to be retained in the future. CIFF will therefore continue to take place in the Bella Center, while Revolver will retain its traditional venue in the historic Øksnehallen.

CIFF and Revolver will be continued as independent formats at the previous locations

Appreciating the merger of the previous competing events, CIFF’s new CEO Sofie Dolva said: “I am honored and very excited to have the opportunity to lead this new, unified organisation, which rests on the shoulders of some of the most competent and experienced exhibition professionals Scandinavia has to offer has to offer,” she said in a statement. The merger is the “biggest step in the European fashion fair industry”, she emphasized and explained that the organizers would now “do everything possible to create further progress and advantages for everyone involved in Copenhagen Fashion Week”.

Christian Maibom, the founder and creative director of Revolver, also emphasized the advantages of the association: “I am very proud of this solution,” he said in a statement. “It took willpower, time and hard work from everyone involved to achieve this goal. By combining the unique qualities of both organizations, we create fantastic and future-proof framework conditions. I’m excited to be a part of this along with the rest of the Revolver team.”
