The provisional exit poll is expected at 9 p.m. This is a kind of shadow election that researchers from the Ipsos I&O agency carried out on behalf of the NOS and RTL News at 65 polling stations throughout the Netherlands. These polling stations have been selected in such a way that together they provide a representative picture of the voting behavior of all voters. Attendance was also measured. About 80,000 voters participate.
Practice shows that the exit poll provides a reliable indication of the distribution of seats in the House of Representatives. It is important to keep in mind that Ipsos I&O uses a margin of error of one seat per party, but in exceptional cases this can also be two.
