Response to the question of resignation from Rıza Çalımbay after the Sivasspor – Hatayspor match!

Having hosted A. Hatayspor in the 8th week of Spor Toto Super League and left the field with a 2-1 defeat, Sivasspor’s fourth defeat this season, Coach Rıza Çalımbay, answered the questions at the press conference held after the match.

The experienced coach, who started his words by evaluating the match, said, “There was no struggle. The match was a single goal. We started the match as usual. We scored early again. I just looked at the statistics, we were superior in all of them. The players did not play badly. Unfortunately, there were no last passes. Neither did the goalkeepers. It was very good. We had about 20 shots but it didn’t happen. We couldn’t evaluate the last hits. Hatay team didn’t play in the second half. My only regret is our second goal. Our players need to be a little alert. It was very wrong for Aaron Appindangoye to tie his shoes in the match. At that moment we conceded the second goal “We had bad luck today. The things I have done since I came here are clear. We can do different things from now on. We have the Balkani match in 2 days. We have to win it,” he said.

“I JUST SAID I CAN LEAVE”

A journalist, “Did your statement on weekdays that I will leave at the end of the season affect the players?” Çalimbay replied, “When I make a statement, people unfortunately only get that part. But nobody reads the content. I just said I can leave, that’s all. The players don’t care about this. There is nothing that will affect the players. They all got a position in the match, it’s not. Right now, everyone has their own business. Normally, this match was to end 7-2, but it didn’t happen,” he replied.

“EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE TOGETHER”

“At the end of the match, the supporters’ management and invited you to resign. What would you say?” Çalimbay gave the following answer to the question:
“We will take the team as far as we can go no matter what. The cheers are not good and correct. Not every team goes well every year. Everyone needs to be together. We will bring this team to the best place.”
