Residents prevent flat fires and extinguish fires with buckets and tubs of water

Residents of a flat on Brabantstraat in Oss prevented a fire from breaking out in their flat on Friday night. Someone had noticed around half past one that a pile of old paper had caught fire right in front of one of the porches. This old paper was there because it would be picked up this Saturday. According to the apartment residents, the pile of old paper was certainly set on fire.

Two apartment residents did not wait for the arrival of the fire brigade, they pushed the burning paper off the apartment building. They took buckets and tubs of water and put out the fire with it. However, they could not prevent the porch with the mailboxes from getting badly damaged.

tumult and noise
The fire released quite a bit of smoke. “He moved into the apartment building,” says a 112 correspondent. “The fire brigade used a large fan to get that smoke out of the porch flat.”

Because of all the commotion and noise, other residents of the flat also woke up. One of them moved the old paper that stood by her porch in the hope that it would cause less damage elsewhere if this pile also caught fire. According to this woman, there has been unrest in the neighborhood for some time.
