Gunfight in West Bank: Three Palestinians killed | Abroad

Israeli media report that according to Shin Bet intelligence, the three were responsible for a terror attack in the city of Tulkarem, also in the West Bank. They would be preparing another major attack.

According to Israeli media, the three were killed in a firefight that broke out after a chase. However, Palestinian media reports that Israeli soldiers unilaterally opened fire after surrounding the car. The soldiers are also said to have stopped ambulances.

On Thursday, the army in Jenin shot dead a 17-year-old and a 23-year-old Palestinian suspected of involvement in attacks in Israel. A 15-year-old boy was injured.

Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1967. The Palestinians want to establish an independent state in those areas, but talks about it are on hold. In the fasting month of Ramadan, which begins today, violence has traditionally flared up in the occupied territories.
