Residents of Stadskanaal receive free compost as a thank you for separating organic waste

Residents of the municipality of Stadskanaal can take their green waste free of charge to the Renewi location in the Industriestraat in Stadskanaal on National Compost Day (Saturday 25 March). They also receive a bag of compost as a gift.

Waste processor Renewi and the municipality of Stadskanaal would like to thank the residents for the separate delivery of organic residual flows (GFT waste).

Renewi annually converts thousands of tons of vegetable, fruit and garden waste (VFG) into high-quality compost. “The better the organic waste is separated at the source, the better the compost,” says manager Erik Goldberg of Renewi Organics. “The effort to deliver organic waste to us separately is of great importance, because pollution with plastic and glass, for example, causes problems in composting and it is difficult to separate it afterwards.”

The compost action lasts from 09:00 to 14:00.
