Residents flee Santorini en masse after more than 280 earthquakes: “Never experienced anything like that”

After more than 280 earthquakes in just a few days, residents and tourists abandon the popular Greek holiday island of Santorini and schools have closed their doors. While the earth continues to shake under the iconic whitewashed houses and blue dome churches, the authorities are preparing for a possible large earthquake. In the meantime, the idyllic Santorini is holding its breath.
