A resident of the Magnolia care institution on Laan van Voorburg in Vught was injured in a fire in the complex on Monday evening. The woman had inhaled too much smoke. She was taken to hospital by ambulance under the supervision of a trauma doctor. The fire broke out shortly after seven o’clock.

The fire started in a half-open department. In addition to the resident, four employees also inhaled too much smoke. One of the employees was taken to hospital for a check-up.

In addition to two fire engines and several ambulances, a trauma helicopter team also provided assistance. The fire turned out to be not too bad and was brought under control fairly quickly. A ladder truck and water truck with extra fire extinguishing water were no longer necessary.

The care institution belongs to the Reinier van Arkel care group. Nothing is known about the damage after the fire, but someone from the Salvage Foundation is present to appraise the damage.
