In the search for reinforcements in the fight against relegation from the 3rd league, VfL Osnabrück has apparently turned its attention to veteran Dominick Drexler. How “District sports“ reported that the purple-whites have contacted the 34-year-old playmaker. Whether there will be an obligation is still open.

Drexler last played for FC Schalke 04 in March and still has a contract until the end of the season. However, the offensive man no longer plays a role in the Royal Blues’ plans; the second division club would probably like to remove him from the payroll. In view of his salary, which may be too high for a third division team, Drexler would have to come to an agreement with Schalke about terminating the contract, the magazine writes.
So far, Osnabrück has borrowed left-back Niklas Kölle (25) from second division promoted SSV Ulm 1846. In addition to Drexler, center forward Nikky Goguadze (26) from the northern regional league team Bremer SV is also reportedly on the Lower Saxony list.
