Report: FC Bayern discusses Nagelsmann’s future – is Tuchel coming?

Timely decision?

“We are planning a long future with him,” said Herbert Hainer, President of FC Bayern Munich, about coach Julian Nagelsmann at the beginning of March. As a result of the changeable performance, especially in the Bundesliga, with three defeats and seven draws, there have been repeated discussions in recent weeks about the 35-year-old trainer, who is contractually bound until 2026. This should be a tweet from the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano from Thursday evening publicly perhaps spark more than ever.

“FC Bayern are seriously considering sacking Julian Nagelsmann. The decision is being discussed internally, the club could sack him soon,” the Italian tweeted. A possible replacement candidate is already available: Thomas Tuchel. German media initially did not report the news with their own information, and this has not been confirmed by the club either.

The 49-year-old ex-BVB coach has been without a club since his surprising departure from Chelsea in September. He won the Champions League with the Blues in 2021. Before his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, he was repeatedly traded as a candidate for Bayern. Recently there were reports that he was looking at the job at Real Madrid, but could also imagine the German record champions for his next coaching position.
